The template is a drawing tool that allows you to create default configurations for boxes and vertical buildings. This way, when one of these elements is created in the project, you can select a pre-designed template, making the diagram editing process easier.
Creating a Template
You can access the Templates section through the Customization area (represented by the pencil icon), located in the left side panel of your OZmap.
Within the Template area, you’ll see a screen displaying all the templates that have already been created. By default, some templates are preconfigured. You can edit an existing template by clicking the “i” icon, or create a new one by clicking the “New Template” option.
When creating a new template, a window very similar to the Box Editor will automatically open. In the upper-left corner, you'll find the "Name" field, where you should enter the name of your new template.
At the bottom of the window, you’ll see all the elements that can be added inside a box or vertical building, including:
Splitter;
Switch;
Fusion;
Connector;
DIO.
In addition to these elements, you’ll also find tools to help organize your diagram, such as alignment options and the smart drawing feature.
In this example, we’ve set up a template for Service Boxes. Two types of splitters were added: one unbalanced splitter (55/45 RF) and another for Customer Service (01x08 AC).
Customizing Your Diagram
To customize your diagrams with a specific template, you can:
Create a new Box Type or Vertical Building.
Edit an existing type by clicking the “i” button next to the desired type’s name.
These options are available in the Types tab, located on the left side panel of your OZmap.
When you select “New Box Type” or “New Vertical Building Type”, a screen will appear allowing you to configure the desired template in the “Default Template” field.
Below, there's an example of a customized building using the previously created template "SPL 01x08 AC + SPL 55/45.
This way, when new boxes and condominiums are created in the project, the customizations with the saved templates will be available upon selecting the Type, without needing to configure the template manually.
If the desired type doesn’t have a template configured yet, you can assign the template directly when creating the element on the map. Just click the "Template" field and select the one you want.
Importing Boxes and Vertical Buildings
Another use for templates is during Import processes, making it easier to design their interiors. To use a ready-made template during import, add a “template” column to your file and fill it out accordingly by entering the name of the customized template in OZmap. Below is an example of an edited file:
